About

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is the most conservative cosmetic treatment we offer. No tooth prep, no impressions, no waiting for the lab — just a careful sculpt of natural-looking composite, polished to match the surrounding enamel.

Bonding is ideal for small chips, closing minor gaps, masking a single discoloured tooth, or smoothing slightly uneven edges. Most cases finish in a single 60–90 minute visit per tooth, with no anaesthetic needed for the simpler ones.

The result lasts 5 to 10 years with reasonable home care, and the composite can be touched up or replaced anytime without compromising the underlying tooth.

If you're considering veneers but want something less permanent and less expensive first, bonding is the natural place to start — and it can be upgraded to veneers later if the case grows.

Composite Bonding · FAQ

Common questions about composite bonding at Stadium Dental in Edmonton.

  1. Bonding is conservative and reversible — best for small fixes. Veneers are more durable and predictable for full smile changes. Many patients start with bonding and upgrade later if they want a more dramatic result.

  2. Less than enamel, but yes — over many years. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco accelerate it. Routine polishing at your check-ups keeps it bright; full replacement is a quick 30-minute visit.
