Gum Contouring
If your smile shows more gum than tooth, or if your gum-line is uneven from one tooth to the next, laser contouring can reshape the soft tissue in 30–45 minutes. Heals in days, results last for life.
We start by mapping the ideal gum-line on a digital photo of your smile, showing exactly how much will be reshaped on each tooth. The laser then trims the excess tissue with no bleeding, no sutures, and almost no discomfort.
Most patients return to work the same day. Mild tenderness for 2 to 3 days is managed with ibuprofen. Final shape is locked in within 7 to 10 days as the tissue heals.
Gum contouring is often the finishing touch on a veneer or whitening case — the proportions of the smile improve dramatically when the gum-line is even.
