About

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

At Stadium Dental, every filling is tooth-coloured composite or ceramic, colour-matched to the surrounding enamel so the restoration disappears. Mercury-free, durable, and gentle on the rest of the tooth structure.

If you have older silver-mercury fillings that are cracking, leaking, or showing through your smile, we can replace them with bonded composite. The new restoration is shaped tooth-by-tooth, polished smooth, and finished in a single visit.

For larger cavities or stress-bearing back teeth, we sometimes recommend a porcelain inlay or onlay instead of composite — same tooth-coloured appearance with greater long-term strength.

Stadium Dental fees stay below the Alberta Dental Fee Guide, every filling is direct-billed to your insurance, and a written quote is provided before the freezing goes in.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings · FAQ

Common questions about tooth-coloured fillings at Stadium Dental in Edmonton.

  1. A well-placed composite filling typically lasts 7 to 12 years. Larger fillings on stress-bearing teeth may not last as long; in those cases we may recommend a ceramic inlay or onlay for greater durability.

  2. Only if they're failing — leaking, fracturing, or causing sensitivity. We don't replace silver fillings purely for cosmetic reasons unless you specifically request it after a discussion of pros and cons.
